The Lariat Steakhouse, which was born in 1945, and the Kouri family took it over in 1970. The creation of Kouri’s Pubs was accomplished to provide simpler, budget-conscious fare for people who wanted a place to party and get together with co-workers and friends. We use the same quality standards and preparation care for our food and drink in the pubs that you’ll find in our steakhouse.
Opened in Peoria in 1986. Then, in 1994, the Pekin location was added. The Kouri family is four generations strong in the bar and restaurant business, dating back to the 1930s. We were even one of the first families in the Peoria area to receive a liquor license after the end of prohibition!
